English

The “LINE” stands for “Laboratory of Integrated Neuroscience and Ethology”. The “LINE” is a multi-disciplinary research laboratory in the Psychology Department, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. The “LINE” emphasizes the integrative understanding of the links between brain and behaviors from multi-disciplinary approaches including evolutionary, genetic, behavioral, pharmacological, system, neuronal, molecular levels using animal models, especially hamsters and genetically modified mice.

The current research interests of the “LINE” mainly focus on two lines of studies. One research topic at the “LINE” applies a multi-disciplinary approach to study mouse models of psychiatric disorders and the possible role of AKT1 and other schizophrenia candidate genes (e.g. NRG1 and DISC1) in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia using knockout/transgenic mice. The other research topic at the “LINE” encompasses neurobiology and ethology to study social neuroscience and the neural basis of social learning and memory using hamsters as a model system.
