The presentation will explore how cultural beliefs and values influence behaviors among emerging adults. The first study examines the effect of parental control on youth's risk-taking behaviors cross-culturally in Taiwan and the U.S. The second study investigates the role of prejudicial attitudes in language and the predispositions to help someone experiencing PTSD symptoms in Taiwan and Malaysia. The importance of studying emerging adulthood from a cultural perspective will be discussed.
