  • 演講主題: 身-心-象:慈悲(與不慈悲)的理論與實務

In an epistemological framework, the mental events that one experiences during wakeful or dreaming states are considered to exist functionally, depending on the correspondence between Body (forms that can be moved and experienced, 身) and Image (symbolic representations of the forms, 象). However, depending on the operation of reflective functioning (Mind, 心), the quality of the correspondence between a set of Body and Image can vary between states of suffering and peace. Regardless of the states, compassion (慈悲) is always key for betterment. In this talk, I will attempt to explain this framework across multiple levels of analysis, from religious scriptures, psychology, to neuroscience. Most importantly, there will be experiential exercises that the audience can voluntarily participate. You are welcome to come and bring with you pencil, paper, and stories based on you (or your good friend's) personal experiences to participate in this interactive lecture.
